Lana + Chris

This session was a whole vibe and I'm not using that term lightly. I had been looking for the opportunity to combine my love of fantasy with a maternity session, then along comes Chris and Lana.

Chris and Lana are having their first child and wanted to document the joyous occasion in a memorable way. Chris admitted to being the creative one of the duo and really wanted to show off Lana’s natural beauty and strength. Pregnancy is the ultimate showcase of how divine and powerful women can be, so we went with more of a Goddess look. Along with talking about plans for the shoot, I was able to give guidance on outfits and suggest some talented local makeup artists.

Our River Market studio space was the perfect setting for these soon-to-be parents, as it provided a variety of looks. Our day was full of joy, laughter, and trust. Capturing Lana’s joyful spirit was so easy! She was very open and comfortable with all my suggestions. Chris was super patient and supportive while I first worked with Lana. He even made a playlist for her to vibe to while shooting. Can you say perfect hype-man? When the time came to shoot the blissful couple together, the love and delight they shared for each other was apparent.

I love working with clients to create something we can all be excited about, and that takes trust. Trust is such an important part of my job. I'm so grateful Chris and Lana let me bring their vision to life while trusting me with creative freedom. I know that it may be tempting to shy away from my more expensive packages, but if it’s in your budget, I highly recommend it. Having multiple outfits and locations certainly allowed for the different sides of their personalities to appear.
